I've lost the Trivial Pursuit gene. I realized this a couple of nights ago when Jef was watching a Geico ad and asked me where he knew the actor from. "Peter Graves! Mission Impossible!"... yet neither of us could remember whether he was the guy who made the tapes or the guy who had to complete the mission :>

Laura, the only thing I remember about Short Circuit is that at the end they were trapped in a closet or something, and the robot played Help Me Rhonda on someone's answering machine, and then she saved them. I think.

I forgot about the Family Ties thing. I'd say it's a selective talent. It comes and goes. As for why 3C's and I remember this... well, we do both have a few years on you. I am disturbed that the site Preppygirl found proclaims this the 20th anniversary of that movie, and I totally remember seeing it in the theater. TWENTY YEARS AGO. Gah.

From my records of fun things DD said (she was 3 at the time): I was reading TV Guide, and she saw the cover picture of Brian Bonsall from Family Ties. I said, "Oh, you recognize him from that show? The one with the song: ‘I bet we’ve been together for a million years/and I bet we’ll be together--‘" Alex chimed in, "’What do you do, bay-buh/Sha-la-la-laaaa!’"
