Tis the Season (of Fake Christmas Trees)

Not that you care, but as promised, I have pictures of my tree skirt and Christmas tree. I purchased the tree skirt at the No Coast Craft-o-Rama, but the seller has a website, if you are interested.

For some reason, I am totally in love with this tree skirt. Probably more than is normal. I also loved the one described here as "My Favorite Tree Skirt" (scroll down), but H thought it was too girly.

Anyway, here is our tree.

H and I are very proud of it and our red and gold theme. It is just a fake Christmas tree (from Target), but it makes us happy.

Another random thing about which I am excited is the Google feed reader. I have now listed all the blogs I read on this Google reader. If you already have a Google or gmail account, then you have access to the reader. (From gmail, you select "Other Services" at the top left, and then select "Reader.") It is supposedly more accurate than bloglines. We shall see.

Things about which I am not excited include the freaking cold weather and going back to work tomorrow although I don't feel that much better.

What is making you happy today?

I actually hate all tree skirts (in my house; I'm fine with anyone else having one). They get wet and sappy and they're a pain to undo, and they're difficult to launder (all that red is guaranteed to bleed). I go with old white sheets: abracadabra, a snow drift :> Yours is very cute, though.

I'm happy today about... the picture I took of the full moon. Yay!

Cute skirt and really stylish tree! Christmas trees should make everyone happy, just because!

What's making happy is the fact that I'm done shopping/wrapping all our gifts plus all my Christmas cards have been sent! Woohoo!

I love that tree skirt!! Very cute.

I'm happy about the fact that I don't have to leave the house today--just be with my boy and do laundry. Aaaaahh.

Nice tree!

I'm happy there's less snow on the streets than there was yesterday. And that the stray cat I've been trying to befriend made it through the storm.

Nice tree! Cute skirt!

I desparately want to put my tree up. I thought I would be doing that this very day, but I have another temp assignment today. This weekend I will finally get to put on my Christmas music and pull out the fake tree from the top of my bedroom closet (Manhattan apartment!) and get in the decorating spirit.

Making me happy: employment, finally some crisp cold winter weather

Cute skirt! The tree looks very nice too!

I'm happy that we're getting a new gas fireplace insert today! Our house should be nice and toasty tonight!

Very nice job on the tree! I love Christmas. Yay.

What's making me happy is anticipating giving people gifts. I love giving gifts! And also receiving the flatscreen TV that my husband and I gave ourselves. Hee.

LOVE the treeskirt! (And tree, of course). Sounds like you are feeling better, too = yippee! xo

I'm happy today about...the thought of getting photos of myself and my friend Mandy dueling each other in our very last fencing class tonight. Heh.

Yez, if I had a real tree I would probably get annoyed by tree skirts, but this one is really just to cover up the ugly tree stand.

Spaw, great job with the presents and cards! I have a long way to go.

Nat, thanks. I hope you had fun today!

Liz, those are excellent things to be happy about.

Laura, I forgot to turn on the Christmas music. I did listen to the Christmas station in the car on Sunday, so I guess that will have to count.

Schneids, I had never had that kind of cake before. It was scrumptious, if I do say so myself.

Preppy, I hope your house is nice and toasty tonight!

Lawyerish, that is very generous of you. =)

Guinness, I hope you post some fun pictures. Fencing sounds so fun!

When I read this entry, the sentence saying 'here's a picture of my tree skirt' was on the bottom of the page and I had to scroll to the phot. I was expecting some kind of fancy dress outfit - a skirt shaped like a tree or something (I don;t know how) that you were going to be wearing. Ha.

Jenny, thanks! I love it too!

Otherbear, were you scared that I would have a skirt that looked like a Christmas tree? No fear; it is an outfit for my tree, not for me.

I like the skirt. The scallops are pretty. I always enjoy looking at the skirt when we don't have our gifts under it yet. (Like now!)
