What Did You Do This Weekend?

I started off the weekend with a shopping spree at Target. Woooo. I got some workout clothes, a skirt, and 5 shirts.

Then I came home, and H's back went out, so good times were had by all as H stumbled around the house cursing.

We were supposed to go to H's hometown and attend his cousin's wedding on Saturday, but although H was feeling better, there was no way he could have sat in a car for a stretch of more than 30 minutes, so we stayed home. I went for an afternoon bike ride. Normally I go biking at around 7:30 pm. Did you know that if you go biking at 1:30, it is much hotter than it is at 7:30? Also, the sun is brighter and will burn your shoulders to a crisp if you wear your new sleeveless workout shirt from Target? These things are true. My hands, arms, and shoulders are very red. Except for a large, strangely-shaped blotch on my left wrist where I was wearing H's giant sports watch.

Today we went to church, bought groceries at Target, and went to the local pool. I didn't want to subject my arms and shoulders to any more sun, so I wore a cardigan. It was sexy. I think wearing cardigans to the pool is going to be the new It Thing.

When we went to Target today, I was wearing a new t-shirt from Target, a new skirt from Target, and gold sandals from Target. For some reason, I am self-conscious when I wear an all Target ensemble to Target (or an all The Gap ensemble to The Gap, for example). Like someone will notice and think, Try shopping somewhere else for once, you freak!

I'd be more worried that they thought you shoplifted the outfit "Excuse me ma'am, we're going to need you to leave those clothes here." Gah!

I was in Target this weekend as well! Birmingham had given me $20 to buy an air pump for the inflatable mattress that we took on vacation but never used. Since I spent that $20 on a delicious meal in Chicago, I had to make an emergency trip to the Target right by his house before reuniting with him. He may never know...

My favorite thing about Target clothes is that only people who know they're Target clothes are people who also shop at Target. So it's like this secret club of discount wardrobe people. Just last night, I saw a girl at the movie I went to and thought, "Hey, that's a Target skirt. I tried that on myself."

I too got sunburned biking on Saturday. Not so badly that I wore a cardigan when I went outside again Sunday, though. You're right; I'm sure you were rocking that look really well. :-)

I'm with 3car--it makes me self-conscious because I'm afraid they're going to ask me to provide receipts or something.

I get the same feeling when I check out the sunglasses rack (which I do a lot, since I wear them 365 days a year) and realize I have the sunglasses I wore into the store perched on the top of my head. These were already mine, I swear!

I, too, love the Target clothes. We have a running joke that I'm unable to get out of Target without spending less than $75. And since I'm in there every other day, you can imagine it adds up pretty quickly. But so cute! And cheap!

Woohoo--did you pick up any exercise skorts at Target?

A few months ago, I wore a brand new Banana Republic skirt into Banana Republic and all the sales people commented! (In a positive way, though.)

I hate wearing clothes to a store that I bought at that store! I actually think about it when I get dressed - about where I need to go that day so I can make sure not to wear something from there. I'm such a giant nerd.

I bought 5 t-shirts at Wally world this weekend. That's right, I bought clothes at Wally world - gah. But seriously, it is a very cute, fitted, cotton v-neck T which fit me nicely so I had to buy it in 5 different colors. Plus, it was on clearance for 5 bucks each so how could I pass it up?

I was also at Target this weekend! I wanted to look at the cute new clothes, but J steered me towards...you know, the stuff we actually came there to get. BO-RING!

I also went shopping at Target this weekend which was very cool because I live in Canada and we don't have Target. (Do you say it like we do: "Tar-ZZZEAY"?) I bought workout clothes too although I don't anticipate using them any time soon. :)

I refuse to wear red and khaki at Target or even burgundy and khaki because I'm afraid someone will think I work there. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

We have Target and Kohls as major clothing shopping in my newly growing
'burb. Everything I wear is from one or the other.

I love them so it's ok. hee

Whenever I wear clothes into a store where the clothes came from (insert Old Navy here), I get worried that someone is going to think I am trying to shoplift and somehow walked into the store in a different outfit, changed into something they have on the racks and magically made my other clothes disappear.

I love Target, even though it has a $50.00 cover charge. However, Target has forever ruined the Red Shirt/Khaki pants outfit for me.

Plus it's fun to tell snooty people that you got your 'super-cute' out fit at Tar-GEAAY' Boutique.

We are getting one of those Super Target's near my house. YAY! (Although, I think the cover charge may be higher there...)

p.s. I love reading these blogs, you guys (gals) are hilarious!
