Nothin' But Net

Today I provide you with two stories that probably couldn't be more different, and yet, they are both about the affirmation of spirit. The previous sentence would be my audition if I were writing for a women's magazine. But I'm not. So instead, I will say - Check these out, peeps.

One Smart Cookie's story is about best friends and being happy with yourself. OSC's friend reminds me of my friend Double_G, and I should really tell Double_G how proud I am of her more often. Also, I have been feeling bad about my life lately, and OSC reminds me to be happy with what I have, and she is right.

Second, we have a story by Nat of Marmite Breath that is crazy and zany and includes a little bit about Paul Rudd and other famous actors about to visit Nebraska. Note to Stefanie: You should really try to become best friends with Nat very quickly because she is about to spend a lot of time with your One True Love (or is that Ethan Hawke, I forget). Anyway. I love Nat, and reading her blog always makes me super happy.

My suggestion for the day: In the comments, share a link to a post or a blog (even your own) that makes your day a little better.

By the way, the post title has nothing to do with anything. I just have that old Michael Jordan commercial stuck in my head for some reason.

Veiled Conceit's NYT wedding announcement dissection is hilarious.

Aw, man. I have to fight Nat for both Tina Fey AND Paul Rudd?? (Maybe Nat and I really COULD be best friends!) ;-)

aw, thanks.

I too am proud of both of us - we have come a long way from puffy painting nerdy things on our debate team t-shirts. (Thank goodness.)

Thanks for featuring me! It really made my day.

And, -R-, I hear you about feeling bad about life. I am not usually quite so zen... in fact, I'd probably describe myself as a fairly negative person. But for what it's worth, I think you're awesome and you have a lot to be proud of yourself for!

Warm fuzzies all around...

Nothing in this world makes me feel happier or better about my life than a little television show known as "The Bachelor." I am not ashamed.

I recently discovered Bossy who is very funny, very popular, and still comes around to comment on my blog almost every day. She's worth a look.

(Speaking of commenting, R, you're still going to my spam box, but now I have no comments from you all week, not even in the spam.) (If this is because you didn't actually comment, apologies.)

I don't know how to link in a comment (yes, I'm that stupid if anyone wants to e-mail me instructions I will give you a big virtual hug), but go to:

www.widelawns.blogspot.com/

and read Thursday the 10th's entry.
The title is a little harsh, but it's a strangely enlightening and uplifting piece.
It's the kind of "feel good" that I can relate to.

Ha, you totally nailed how a women's magazine would introduce the two stories. I liked Smart Cookie's story -- it's so hard to remember that even though we don't live up to our ridiculous expectations for ourselves, we're still awesome.
