Thirteen Things

It is Wednesday night again, but whatever. This is the way I do things.

Thirteen Things I Have Forgotten

1. My best friend's birthday. It was Monday, but I didn't remember until 4 pm today. I immediately called her and apologized about 57 times. She forgot my birthday a few years ago though, so I think we are even.

2. What it feels like to wear comfortable shoes. I wear high heels almost every day now, and my feet are not happy. My sneakers suck though and make my feet cramp up. It is definitely time to go shopping. If you have any comfy shoes to recommend, please leave a comment!

3. How to crochet. So what if I never really knew how. When I was in elementary school, I tried to crochet a blanket, but it ended up just being a blanket for my Barbies. And it had a big hole in the middle. But I kind of wish I knew how to crochet now that a few of my friends are having babies and I would like to make them something cute. I can kind of knit, but not that well.

4. How to make time to exercise. Why can I make the time to blog but not exercise? I am just lazy.

5. The feel of soft sand under my toes. It has been way too long since I have been to the beach. Maybe we can take a quick weekend trip for our first anniversary...

6. What life was like before Google. Google, I love you!

7. That just because someone is a jerk, not everything they do is infused with jerkiness. Basically, once I decide someone is an idiot or a jerk, then EVERYTHING that person does is completely stupid, annoying, or mean. I need to realize that people I don't like have shades of gray and, for the most part, are not 100% horrible.

8. How much fun my friend is. I can't wait to spend time with her in Las Vegas! The last time I saw her was at my own wedding, and we didn't have much time to just hang out.

9. How to speak without a Minnesota accent. I have only been here for - whoa, it will be two years at the end of this month - almost 2 years, and I can hear the change in the way I say words with the long "o" sound. I suck at imitating accents, yet I pick them up pretty quickly.

10. Everything I learned in my high school calculus class. And geometry. And trig.

11. What "once removed" means when speaking of relatives. Is my cousin once removed the same as my second cousin? I used to know that.

12. What time "House" is on. I have only seen it a few times because I can never figure out when it is on tv.

13. The theme song to "Family Ties." All I know is that it ends with "Sha na na na." That is a really odd thing to remember that I forgot. And that last sentence is just odd.

I won't comment on all of these, because that's just really not necessary, but...

3. Plenty of places around here will teach you to knit and/or crochet. I learned to knit at a Community Ed. class myself, but all the yarn shops in the area have classes.
4. See, and me--I exercise, but I neglect my blog. I could actually stand to make more time for both.
6. And Mapquest. Don't forget Mapquest. What would I do without THAT?
7. I have the exact same problem with someone at work. I can't stand the guy, and I really need to get past it and be a grown-up before I say/do something inappropriate.
10. Ditto. I honestly think if I took the ACT/SAT today, I wouldn't even get into a community college.
13. "What would we do, baby... without us? What would we do, baby... without us? Cause there ain't no nothing we can't love each other through (whoo)... What would we do, baby... sha la la la."
:-)

OK, I commented on only like half of those, and I still feel like a total comment whore. Sorry.

I will never understand the need to kill your feet in heels. My friends are always on me to get "cute shoes" and I'm always trying to get "comfortable shoes." ha ha.

I forgot how to crochet, too. I'm pretty good with birthdays. I miss the soft sand....

I forgot how to crochet too. It bums me out. I haven't gotten around to asking my mom to reteach me and now I really want to know the theme to Family Ties too!!!!

Your second cousin is someone who has the same great-grandparents. The children of my father's cousin are my second cousins. A first cousin once removed is your first cousin's child.

My TT is up.

House is on after American Idol on Wednesdays. 9:00 I think. :) I rarely wear heels anymore. They kill my feet!

Unless you are an engineer or builder, you really don't use trig, and other forms of math. How often do you use geometry?

I have forgotten so many things over the years...
I don't remember much from the math classes I took.
Great, compy dress shoes (had to buy myself some for work) are by Areosoles. I enjoy them and even wear them now on weekends.
Thank you for visiting My Lighter Side today.:)

Stefanie, I learned how to knit at a community ed class too! I haven't gotten past the basics yet though. I prefer Yahoo maps to mapquest b/c Mapquest tells you to use a gravel road through some stranger's farm to get to my house, which is not only odd but very out of the way. And thanks for the lyrics! I am singing to myself now!

Carmen, I was like you until this year. Now my work clothes require high heels. Especially if I don't want to hem my pants. =)

Tnchick and Amy, We need to relearn our crafty skills!

Norma, thanks! I think I understand now. =)

Moogie, thanks. I don't watch American Idol, so that must be the problem.

Lazy D, Never!

Eph, thanks for the tip. I wore my one pair of aerosoles today!

Neat list -r-.
Regarding #1, I just sent my sister an ecard 3 minutes too late!! I am notorioiusly bad for sending/giving cards.
#4 I hate to say this, fellow bloggers, but exercising is more important than blogging. It can help prevent heart problems, strokes and mental illness too. We have got to find a way to exercise on-line!
#7 That just because someone is a jerk, not everything they do is infused with jerkiness.
Words to remember, alright.

Thanks kiddo!

Carol, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who is bad at sending cards on time. And I definitely need to work on the exercising, especially since I ate WAY too much in Vegas.

I'm glad you haven't forgotten more than you can remember.
