Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I AM FREAKING OUT.

Last June, I reserved two hotel rooms for the weekend of my sister's graduation. She goes to vet school in a smallish town/city, so there are not many hotels, and they fill up quickly. I was so proud of myself for booking the rooms for my mom and myself. Tonight, I decided to confirm my reservations. I was again so proud of myself for being so responsible.

THE RESERVATIONS I MADE ARE FOR A HOTEL THAT IS AN HOUR AWAY FROM MY SISTER'S SCHOOL. WHAT THE FREAKING FUCK HAPPENED???

Did I make the reservations for the wrong city???? Did the hotel chain change my reservation on me???? Did the hotel where I originally made the reservations close????

So I called all of the hotels in my sister's town/city (I almost abbreviated that as "tity" but then thought better of it), and they are all booked.

My mom is going to be so pissed at me.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

Before you ask, my sister does not have room for anyone to stay with her.

I called the company that owns both the hotel where I want to stay and the hotel where I apparently have reservations. I asked how the hell this happened. They said I must have booked the wrong hotel.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

I am going to go try to go to sleep but instead just lie awake worrying about this. Good times.

********

Well, in good news, I booked a flight to Chicago for H and I to go have a Memorial Day weekend getaway with one of my best friends and her husband. But knowing me, I probably booked flights to Denver or flights to Chicago but for the wrong weekend. DAMN IT WHY AM I SUCH A DUMBASS.

********

To make myself feel better, I just bought these shoes in black patent leather. With the shipping of negative $5, they only cost 14.79! Wooooo!

Ok, it is sad that I feel sorry for myself. Poor me. I get to fly to another state to see my sister graduate, and then I am going to Chicago with my husband and one of my best friends, and I bought a new pair of shoes. Snap out of it, me!

And that is enough pathetic-ness for one blog entry. Go read one of my new links, like One Smart Cookie, or check out some awesome prom pictures.

I'm so proud of you for being so responsible. I totally blame the lame-o hotel people. Just the fact that they also own a hotel where you WANT to stay leaves me suspicious.

I shake my finger at them!

P.S. I'm working on the prom pic! I just have to get off my duff and do it.

Negative $5 shipping? Awesome! Cute shoes.

The hotel thing...bummer, but everyone has done something like that before. An hour drive isn't so bad...

that is like my worst nightmare. I've never been able to book a flight without double checking my work fifty times. 3carnation's right, though, an hour's not so bad. I drove an hour to work from my boyfriend's place this morning, and thanks to coffee, I'm okay now. At least you didn't book Springfield MA when you meant Springfield IN or something. That'd be BAD.

Bummer on the hotel thing. But at least it is still drivable. And being upset about it does not make you pathetic.

But isn't it the thought that counts? I hope your mom doesn't get upset ... you saved her the trouble of going through the hassle of making the same mistake! Go, You!!

You could just tell her you booked the room an hour away, so that you could get away from all the excessive partying you know will be going on. It will be much quieter, etc., etc. OH! and that you are looking forward to some "mom" time with her on the drive. *grin*

I have yet to take advantage of the negative $5 shipping, but I'm definitely adding to the wish list everyday.

Don't beat yourself up. Just look in a mirror and repeat, "I am a good person. I'm good enough, smart enough, and all the bloggers love me."

One word.

Tent.

I'm sure it was the hotel's fault--not yours, if my recent customer service dealings have been any indicator. (Are people really getting stupider? It seems that way.)

On the plus side--cute shoes! And what a price. Now let's hope when they arrive, they aren't hot pink gladiator sandals instead. ;)

OMG are those shoes cute!!! Don't forget to check out Hamamatsu sushi (on N. Clark) if you have time in Chi-town.

P.S. - prom pic is up

Think about it this way. If your sister were graduating in a big city like Houston it'd take an hour to get to her graduation anyway just because traffic is so nasty.

PS. Cute shoes!

A few years ago, I booked plane tickets for Thanksgiving for the WRONG WEEK. I don't know what I was thinking. I realized it in the middle of the night and woke up in a panic. The person on the phone actually let me change it to a Christmas plane ticket without the change fee, so I was lucky.

I hope something works out with the hotel...
