H and I are glued to the TV tonight watching coverage of the interstate bridge collapse that took place during rush hour over the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. Right now, it seems like all our friends and family are ok. I hope it stays that way.
I'm glad you're okay. I got a text message last night from my friend (the one you met) saying he was okay, and I thought he was just sending a funny text. I didn't hear the news until this morning. Glad to hear you're safe!
We've had stories in my city about the bad condition of our bridges, but I never thought that any city would let them get that bad. The stories I've heard about rebar hanging from the bottom and being "fixed" by our local DOT by pulling the loose stuff off and checking for loose concrete now sounds like much more serious negligence than I first thought.
I have been glued to the TV and radio since last night, too. I was on my way to a yoga class when I heard the news, and when the instructor kept telling us to "just let all the stresses and thoughts of the day melt away," I wanted to say, "Lady, didn't you HEAR WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!?"
I'm glad you're OK--and thanks for checking on us! Luckily my immediate family and many of my friends have been in touch and more people keep coming out of the woodwork to say that they are OK. Word just came out at work that everyone is accounted for--which is nice to know considering we are so close to the bridge.

I thought about you as soon as I saw the news. Glad everyone is okay.
Oh my GOD! -R-! That is terrible! I just imagined driving over the bridge with my kids and how terrifying it must have been for those people.
Oh. It's awful. I'm glad your family is okay.
I'm glad to hear you're OK. I have a friend who lives in the area, and I immediately thought of her and a few bloggers when I saw the news.

Oh thank goodness you and all your friends are alright. I was just going to write you an email to ask.
