Success?

I am so much more than happy with how the blog share project turned out. These anonyposts (TM 3carnations) are some of the best posts that I have ever read. I would definitely call this a success!

I received a bunch of e-mails and comments today from people asking if they could participate or if this is going to happen again. It is too late to participate, as this was a one day event, but maybe we can try it again in about three months. Save up all your stories about stupid holiday gifts you receive and crazy in-laws, and check back here in February or March. Maybe we can have a St. Valentrick's Day Blog Share Event. (St. Valentrick's Day is the imaginary holiday inbetween Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day.) It took some time to organize all this blog share, and I screwed up by sending the person who posted on Sass Attack the wrong e-mail address for L Sass, but it was still kind of fun to organize.

I want to give a special thanks to the person who posted on my blog. I think her post really touched a lot of people, and it was just a beautiful post.

I exchanged e-mail with one of the anonyposters today who was worried that people would try to figure out which post was hers by using the list of participating bloggers. Neither this anonyposter nor I think that there is a big chance of this happening, but some of the posts were really personal, and I don't know, I just think that on Friday morning I'm going to take down the list of participating blogs on my site.

And now I will leave you all alone about the blog share!

Agreed. Thank you again! That was a lot of fun. I found some new blogs and read some amazing posts. Loved it.

-R-, this was wonderful! Thanks so much for organizing it. Writing the post was liberating, and I'm with Alyndabear - three months is fine, but sooner is also fine. The only down point - My work productivity plummeted as I followed the anonyposts.

I'll take down the list today, too. I suppose the more time that goes by, the more likely someone could track down who a poster is...

Also - Whoever commented as "another blogshare participant" - Great idea! I think I would recommend we all do that next time, to keep people from trying to get too clever about narrowing it down. ;)

You did a great job on it! So much fun to read! If we all removed our filters, like this all the time, I think I'd spend every day bawling my eyes out.

Yeah, I suppose the "another blogshare participant" was a good idea if you really are trying to retain anonymity. There were a few posts where I was reading thinking, "Could this be so-and-so?" and then I'd see a comment from so-and-so and think, "Nope. Guess not." That is, unless people were posting decoy comments. That's possible, I guess.

Personally I don't care if anyone in the blog world knows which post was mine; I just didn't want my story on my own blog, on the off chance my employer ever finds my site someday!

Thanks for organizing, R! That was so much fun!!

The blog share was super-awesome. -R-, you are a rockstar for organizing it. I loved reading every single one of the posts -- some hilarious, some heartbreaking -- and getting introduced to some new blogs!

I have to give a special comment to whomever wrote the anonypost on RedRedWhine, because (1) the site refused to let me leave a comment, and (2) it was one of the funniest things I have ever read.

I am totally participating in the next share!

Good job, -r-! That was great fun. I thought sure I'd be able to tell which posts were written by the people I read regularly, but there's only one I'm sure of, so I wouldn't worry too much about anonymity being breached!

It was lovely and heartbreaking and hilarious reading. We should definitely do it again.

I thought this was lots of fun. I would do it again if all the links were not posted publicly, since mine was sniffed out by two people in real life who clicked around until they found mine. But then again, I see the fun being able to read them all. And I could find a few things to post about that I wouldn't mind if everything read, as long as they weren't sitting on my site (I'm thinking of work-related stories).

Anyway, thanks -R-! And sorry for being a paranoid freak.

Thanks again for setting it up! I'll definitely participate next time around.

And you and H have the best holidays!!

I also thought it was awesome! Not a lot getting down over here yesterday, what with all the clickng and reading, but I needed the break. Thanks for organizing it, -R-!

Based on the response, I'm guessing there will be a lot more participants next time, making it harder to "sniff people out"...another option is only making the list available to participants. We are a big enough group, and then the lurkers/people we know won't be seeking out our post. My stats quadrupled yesterday, yet I had the usual number of comments. Lots of lurkers in blogshare...

I really had a good time with this.
I would totally be game to do it again- thanks for pulling this together, my dear.
