What do Spam, Huey Lewis, and Ted Williams Have in Common?

Stinkypaw sent me the following meme:

1. Go to Wikipedia.
2. In the Search box, type your birth month and day (but not year).
3. List three events that happened on your birthday.
4. List two important birthdays and one interesting death.
5. One holiday or observance (if any).
6. Tag 5 more peoples - if you feel like it.

Since my birthday (July 5) is the best birthday ever, I decided to do it.

Events:
1937 - Spam, the luncheon meat, was introduced into the market by the Hormel Foods Corporation.
1947 - Larry Doby signs a contract with the Cleveland Indians baseball team, becoming the first black player in the American League. (Jackie Robinson had broken the color barrier with the Brooklyn Dodgers in the National League 11 weeks earlier.)
1989 - The sitcom Seinfeld aired its first episode.

Births:
1950 - Huey Lewis, American musician

1976 - Bizarre, American rapper

Death:
2002 - Ted Williams, baseball player

Holidays:
Independence Day (for Venezuela, Algeria, and Cape Verde)

It surprises me that your two "important" births were Bizarre and Huey Lewis. But, R, it is hip to be square.

Cool to know that Spam and Seinfeld were both launched on your birth day!

Cool list - thanks for "participating" to this tag!

Boozie, I had to choose Bizarre and Huey Lewis because it's the power of love.

Spaw, there were a bunch of interesting events, but I only wanted to put happy ones. =)

Events:
122 - The building of Hadrian's Wall begins.
1503 - Michelangelo begins work on his David.
1898 - Hannibal Williston Goodwin patents celluloid photographic film.

Birthdays (can't limit myself to two):
1857 - Milton S. Hershey, American chocolate entrepreneur (d. 1945)
1903 - Claudette Colbert, French-born actress (d. 1996)
1916 - Roald Dahl, Welsh writer (d. 1990)
1918 - Dick Haymes, Argentine vocalist (d. 1980)
1925 - Mel Torme, American singer (d. 1999)

Death: 2004 - Luis E. Miramontes, Mexican chemist, co-inventor of the contraceptive pill. He formulated a progestin, Northindrone, which eventually became Ortho-Novuum. The Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology (in Shrewsbury, Mass.!) used a similar progestin from Searle and created the first Pill - Enovid (which turned out to be way, WAY too strong, but hey. Pioneers!).

Whoops, forgot the holiday (aah, wretched excess!):

Roman festivals - epulum Iovis: banquet of Jupiter, on the ides during the Ludi Romani
