I Blame This Post on the Meds

My post today was going to revolve completely around some uploaded pictures, but Blogger does not want me to have any pictures on my post today! Arrrrrr!

I didn't talk to anyone today because my throat hurts so much. I am sick. It sucks. I am high on Claritin right now. Plus 6 Sudafeds. And 100 cough drops. Woo hoo! Umm, yeah, by "high" I mean that my nose is a tiny, tiny, miniscule amount less runny.

So, what else is going on? My law school friend who just moved to Minnesota and I played an awesome game on Friday. The Incredible H assisted. The game is called, "List the 3 weirdest people in our law school class." It is a very fun game and led to much debate. There were some strong contestants. I think we all decided on a winner though. I don't want to tell you his name, so let us call the winner "Jack." The first time I remember seeing Jack was at a final that all first-year students had to take. Jack had twisted one end of a paper clip around his glasses and one end around his pencil. So his pencil was sticking up from his glasses like an antenna. Let me repeat, this was in LAW SCHOOL. Not first grade.

My friend and I had to compete against Jack in an intraschool mock trial competition. The judge of our mock trial was a very conservative, Mormon professor. I think I made the opening statement for our side, and it went well. Then Jack stood up. He started off with an extremely graphic joke about a little kid walking in on his sister and some strange guy "doing it" in a barn. My friend passed me a note that said, "We just won."

I am not sure that these two examples fully illustrate the freakiness of this kid. You should realize just how weird he is when I tell you that second place in our game was the girl who worked at a haunted house during our first year of law school and showed up for class one day with her Halloween makeup still on - her face painted white with fake blood dripping out of the side of her mouth. When asked why she had not washed her face, she just shrugged.

Excellent job working in the talk-like-a-pirate-day lingo completely unexpectedly. :-)

OK, that law school dude? Hilarious. But I'll admit those stories reminded me of a guy in my 10th grade Spanish class, not a guy about to be a lawyer.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Sounds like a fun game! I should try that, but I didn't go to law school. Hmmm...

Yes, Blogger is being a total poop-head about the pictures. I've tried multiple times tonight, but nothing doing. Garrr. Blogger should walk the plank.

That is hilarious. I think you have me beat for wierdest people from law school. We had some quirky people, but, um, not quite that quirky!

That has to be the best opening statement I've ever heard -- "He started off with an extremely graphic joke about a little kid walking in on his sister and some strange guy 'doing it' in a barn." WTF??

Yeah, we had some weirdos at my law school, but nothing remotely like this. Or the girl with the Halloween makeup. That is awesome.

***removing pencil from my eyeglasses***

I love Jack's opening line for the mock trial. That is awesome. Can't wait to use that myself someday.

The pencil thing actually sounds kind of dangerous to me...

Reads like law school was a blast! Ever wonder if Jack and make-up girl are actually practising law today? and what type of law? They both might be in the entertainment industry...

Hope you'll feel better!

I painted mine and my roommates robes at graduation and we wore them to the ceremony. Then again, we were in ART school. It was more strange to NOT be strange at my school.

Stefanie, I like to throw in a little pirate-speak when I can.

Ma'am, I think the game could be adapted to many situations. Three weirdest family members, three weirdest coworkers...

Maliavale, he may have actually had one pencil on each side, but I am not sure.

Libra, I assure you that the paperclip was for cosmetic purposes only. It wasn't holding his glasses together.

Jenny, I hope you are feeling better. Thanks for the offer, but I don't think I need an interstate drug shipment yet.

Laura, we didn't have a lot of quirky people, but the ones that we had were WAY quirky.

Lawyerish, maybe sex jokes are the way to start opening statements and this guy was just ahead of his time. Let me know how that works for you.

Prep, I hope you are feeling better soon!

Schneids, you haven't heard a sex joke in court yet? I will have to tell you about some of the other weirdos sometime.

3car, maybe, but I would have laughed if he had stabbed himself in the eye.

Spaw, I do wonder what they are up to. Scary.

Princess, I am sure art school has its own kind of weirdos! Painting your robes doesn't sound too weird though. Were they abstract designs?

PS I am responding to your comments in the middle of the day because I still feel horrible and am staying home from work today. Dule Hill was on a celebrity poker show this morning, so staying home was definitely worth it.

You should come breathe on me so I can get out of going to Biological Anthropology class. Because seriously, it's being taught by Ben Stein in a female form. I long for a sore throat. Strep throat? Sounds great!

(But seriously, I do hope you feel better soon.)

JR, I could breathe into an envelope and send it to you, but I am not sure that would help you get out of your class.
