Oh my. An opportunity to use my new scanner! That is, if I had it hooked up already. And knew how to use it. And had any idea if I even have prom pictures in my home or if they're actually still in my childhood bedroom at my parents' house.
Hmm. This is turning out to be a trickier challenge than I thought. Can't wait to see other people's pics, though!
Holy crap! That's a great challenge. If I can 1) remember that I need to do this when I get home and then 2) find the picture and then 3) summon the courage to relive my badly thought out "lady in red" night with a date that I didn't like very much, I'm game!
I didn't go to the prom, either. Glad to know I'm not the only pathetic wallflower in the bunch. ;) Too bad, though, for the purposes of embarrassing photos--I can assure you that prom fashions in the late 70s ROCKED. Hee.
My GOD. Thankfully, even though I did go to prom, I have not one single picture of me from it in my possession. My mother have them all. God willing, one day they will all spontaneously combust leaving no trace.
I'll have to choose between scary lilac number/Bride of Frankenstein Hair with Psycho Boyfriend from Hell Prom... or aquamarine mermaid dress with the "good friend" prom.
Oh, and it's entirely possible that I wore a BANANA CLIP in my hair with that last one. It's like a strange, nightmarish flashback... I don't actually remember, but I have a sinking feeling that I did.
If you don't have a scanner you can always use your digital to 'take a picture of a picture' and post it.
:)
(Here via Isobel) - and I have no idea if I have the scrapbook that has my photo in it - all my cool old photos are in boxes at the parents house hours and hours away.
I didn't HAVE a prom--I went to an all-girls private school. Weep for me. We may, however, have had a secret underground prom-like party which is far too embarrassing to even get into.
Would you care for a picture of me in my bat mitzvah dress? There were silver shoes involved, and a floppy pink hairbow.

What about those of us who never got asked to prom? DID YOU THINK OF US? Way to pour salt in an old wound, man.
{sobs uncontrollably}

I never went to prom. So, yes, that WOULD be quite a challenge!

Lawyerish, THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE THE ASKING LIKE I DID THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Stefanie, I actually almost referenced your new scanner in my (short) post, but I only had 3 minutes to type. I want to see a picture!
3cars, then I would like to see an artistic rendering of what you would have looked like had you gone. Or any embarrassing photo will suffice.
Noelle, lady in red? I can't wait to see it!

If I can find it I'll post it. Get ready for Texas big hair.
PS. Your word verification just called me "qeerbox". Should I be offended?
Oh my goodness. I went to THREE! Once in shiny blue poofiness with sequins!
I'll have to find the time to dig those out.
I'll have to cut out the heads of my dates, though. They epitomize geeky high school dates.
Umm, yeah, I was too cool to go to the prom.
Seriously!!
Umm...I'll find something. Yeah, big Texas '80s hair!!! Hee!!
Jenny, the word verification just called me an "ol u dc (decent?) RN." How did it know??!!!
Yes! I totally have one. I will post it tonight...
I'm up for it. I'll post it on Thursday!!
Fun times!
Awesome idea! I'll put mine up tonight or tomorrow. Can't wait to see them all!

What a great idea. Someday when I get all those old photos over here with me, I'll be a scanning machine, I promise. And I'll keep you posted.
I think the comments are turned off on the post with your pics? Or is Blogger just being mean to me (which is usually how it feels anyway)?
My word verification is vam buk cj, which sounds like a pretty cool band if you ask me.
