You Love When I Post Random Things

I had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day today. Ugh. Also, I am trying out a new thing called not checking my blog e-mail or Google reader while at work. I did semi-ok today, but you may have noticed I gave in once this morning and read a few blogs and responded to Nat's comment on my own blog. But still. I did decently today. I will still be reading at night or before work, so do not be despondent if you do not see my usually early morning comment on your blog!

*****

I have been listening to my Ok Go cd for two weeks in a row now. Every day. I love it and cannot help it.

*****

You may have noticed that I have changed the layout of my blog tonight. Why? I just felt like it. It is still a work in progress, so don't judge me yet. Although it probably will look very boring for a while, and I may still switch to Wordpress. I haven't decided yet.

*****

I was hoping that I would just think of something clever and interesting to write about despite my pissed off mood, but that does not appear to be happening tonight. So I will steal the James Lipton questionnaire from Noelle, who coincidentally has the hardest blog name to spell ever. At least for me.

# 1. What is your favorite word?
Doodle. Also "soporific." Also "also."

# 2. What is your least favorite word?
Hackneyed.

# 3. What turns you on (creatively, spiritually or emotionally)?
Laughter.

# 4. What turns you off?
Violence.

# 5. What is your favorite curse word?
The only curse word I ever really say is fuck. And I said it a lot today. But I don't enjoy saying it. The curse-like words I actually enjoy using are "Freaking A!" and "Dagnabbit!"

# 6. What sound or noise do you love?
Children singing.

# 7. What sound or noise do you hate?
The sound of H picking skin off his fingers.

# 8. What profession, other than your own, would you like to attempt?
I think I would be an excellent HR director. Or bookstore owner. Or professional reader.

# 9. What profession would you not like to attempt?
Doctor or nurse.

# 10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
If I arrive at the Pearly Gates, I would like to hear God performing "Rapper's Delight" by The Sugar Hill Gang for me.

Sorry about the hard to spell blog name. When I decided that I needed a name to reflect the fact that I live on a Christmas Tree farm, I googled "Tannenbaum" "Tanenbaum" and "Tanunbaum" to see which had the most hits. I even tried using a German translator, but that didn't work at all.

Also, when you decide to own a bookstore, talk to me, I'll give you the low down!

That first line reminds me of Reading Rainbow, because I know it is part of the title of a book I saw on that show once. (The first part is "Alexander and the"? Or maybe some other name "and the"? I forget. But still, the fact that I remember this at all proves I have lots and lots of wasted space inside my brain.)

Per #6--That's actually one of the sounds I hate most. Because I'm cold and evil and a bitter old woman, obviously.

Per #7--Eww.

Well, if Stefanie is evil by way of #6, I'm a bit evil, too. What can I say? ;)

"Dagnabbit!" I like that. I might borrow it from time to time.

I'm sure God will perform "Rappers Delight," especially for you.

I also love "also." And soporific!

If I don't read blogs while at work, I would never get to read blogs. ;-)

I'm thinking of going to Wordpress also. Also. Also.

I'm with ya on the not reading blogs at work. I am way behind on blog reading but I think I'm okay with that.

#7 - Again, H & Galoot, separated at birth.

ooh. #7. i had an ex that did that almost obsessively and it bugged the crap out of me.

and #6.. i am also evil and dead inside.

good for you for not checking blogs at work. i have a feeling when i start the new job i am going to go through a little withdrawal without my daily reading.

I really thought that your favorite word would be scrumtrulescent. ;) (Please tell me that makes sense to you; I have a feeling it will.)

Noelle, I always want to spell in "tennanbaum," for some reason. I think I also keep trying thedailytannenbaum because I am dumb.

Stefanie, it is Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. I remember the book but did not know it had been on Reading Rainbow. Just take a look, it's in a book, on Reading Rainboooooooow.

Liz, I should clarify that I only like the sound of kids singing well, and not all showy and weird or totally off key.

L Sass, many 80s rap songs would be enjoyable as performed by God, I think.

DCMM, I am still reading the occasional blog at work, but it is much more limited and I only comment from home. For two days in a row. A new record!

Preppy, those two freak me out. Maybe they are cousins. Identical cousins.

Claire, the finger picking has only started in the last year or two, since H has stopped biting his nails. And it is driving me totally crazy.

Metalia, do you know who would be a scrumtrelescent guest on The Barry Gibb Talk Show? James Lipton!
